Etch the PCB plate.

Prepare the etching solution in a non metal container, according to the instructions of the manufacturer and put the plate in it. The time for etching depends on the temperature, solution ratio and the surface of the plate that has to be removed. Note that no matter what solution you use, you are working with a corrosive and toxic chemicals - use gloves, goggles and well ventilated space to operate with it.

Etching the PCB plate.

When the etching is complete, do not forget to rinse the plate with hot water and soap.

Etched homemade PCB plate.

Drill the holes with appropriate drill diameter. For most of the elements 0.8mm is ok.

Etched homemade PCB plate with flux.

If you want to have the best surface for soldering the elements to, after cleaning the plate with acetone, apply a thin layer of solder flux, dissolved in ethyl alcohol. This will also create a protective film on the PCB to keep it from oxidizing.
The solder flux usually has a acid reaction and in order not to corrode the PCB, it is good after soldering to clean the plate with ethyl alcohol.
